Default software settings
Here is a screenshot of the CANsmart™ software home screen. The top row shows each of the four circuits and indicates the type of accessory you selected for that circuit. The following sections apply to each of your accessory circuits and allow you to review and modify all accessory features and settings. This screenshot shows the default setting applied.
Configuring your accessories - circuit function selection
The circuit function selector allows you to operate any accessory on any of the four circuits. Click a circuit icon above to open the drop-down menu of available circuit functions. Simply select which type of accessory you want to operate on each circuit. Read on for an overview of each circuit functionality (accessory type) and available settings.
More accessory features and settings
You can see the default accessory options at the top of the software home screen. These include the accessory options additional headlights (pair or split), additional brake light and horn. Scroll down to see screenshots of the other available accessory options and their customizable settings.
Turn signal settings
The turn signal circuit allows additional turn signals to be added without having to tap into the motorcycle's factory turn signal harness. This is the ideal option for powering our amber daytime running lights. In the settings window you can choose whether you want the signal to run and flash or just flash. You can also adjust the chase and flash intensity between 0-100%.
Settings for operation/brake/turn signals
This circuit feature turns a simple 2-wire LED light into a full-featured red running/braking/flashing light for use on the rear of your bike. This circuit allows the addition of a red auxiliary brake light (with turn signal and flash pattern braking) without having to tap into the bike's factory turn signal or brake harness. This is the ideal option for powering our Dual B6 Brake License Plate Brake Light.
Universal accessory settings
The accessory circuit function provides single-switch 12V power to an accessory of your choice when the motorcycle ignition is turned on. You can set the accessory to have a delayed shutdown (between 0 and 60 seconds) or set it to turn off immediately with the ignition.
New in October 2020: The third data cable (marked with a white stripe on all circuits) now provides clean 12V power with the ignition on, which immediately shuts off when the motorcycle is ignited. This allows you to easily add accessories such as an Innovv camera that require both an ignition-switched trigger cable and a time-delay power cable that can continue to provide power after the trigger cable detects that the ignition has been turned off.
Heated gear settings
The heated circuitry allows the heated equipment to operate in conjunction with the motorcycle's factory heated grip settings. The heated gear temperature can be preset in the software for each level the motorcycle has for the factory heated grips, from 0% to 100%. This shifting function is only available for bicycles that have an electronic heated grip control from the factory. Current applications include:
- BMW K1600 - 5 adjustment levels
- BMW R 1250 GS - 5 setting levels
- BMW F900XR, F850GS and F750GS - 3 adjustment levels
- R1200LC, R1200HH, S1000XR, F800GS, F700GS, G650GS, K1200GT and K1300S - 2 adjustment levels
- KTM 1290, 1190, 1090 - 3 adjustment levels
