Description

If you want to convert your motorcycle to the Click'n'Ride LED indicators, but have not yet installed LED indicators as standard, then you need the appropriate resistors. This is the only way to keep the frequency of your turn signals correct.

As an alternative to power resistors, you can also install a power-independent relay

This guide is written to help you install the CLICKnRIDE® resistor on your motorcycle if your motorcycle is pre-wired for incandescent bulbs.

LED lights have a very low current draw, so when used as turn signals on a motorcycle designed for incandescent bulbs, they may blink faster than usual, as if a bulb has burned out, or not blink at all (if not enough "Resistance" is present to trigger the turn signal camera). We designed our CLICKnRIDE® resistors to address this issue and bring the flash rate back to approximately 60-90 FPM (flashes per minute).

Add a CLICKnRIDE® resistor to each LED light connected to the motorcycle signal circuit until there is enough "load" to trigger your flasher.

NOTE: On some motorcycles you may not need the resistor at all if you leave the ball lights on the front and attach CLICKnRIDE® to the back.

Installation:
Locate the LED turn signal wires. The CLICKnRIDE® resistor should be installed so that the red wire is connected to the positive signal line (+) and the black wire is connected to the negative signal line (-). LEDs are polarity dependent, and each motorcycle manufacturer may have a slightly different configuration. If you have added resistors to each LED light and your turn signals still do not work, try swapping the red and black wires of the resistor.

Choose a location for the CLICKnRIDE® resistors (Note: The resistors get hot when the signal flashes, so avoid mounting on the panel or other parts that could be damaged by the heat). The wires can be shortened if desired.
