The long-awaited Trigger Wizard is a simple wiring adapter that converts a vehicle's ground-switched high beam wire into a traditional high beam wire that outputs 12 volts when you turn on the high beams. This adapter is required if you want to output a 12V high beam signal that allows the DENALI lights to change intensity with your factory high beam switch.

To install the Trigger Assist, simply connect the white and blue ends to the color-coded trigger wires of the DENALI wiring harness, and then connect the black and white wires to the vehicle's high beam and switching power wires, respectively.

What is Ground Switching? How do I know if I need this?
The ground circuit is a common configuration for LED headlight circuits in vehicles and simply means that the switch is on the ground side of the headlight circuit rather than the power side of the circuit. To determine what type of switch your vehicle has, simply use a voltmeter to measure the voltage on the headlight high beam wire while turning the high beam switch on/off. Traditional “power side” switched high beam circuits display 0 volts when the high beam is off and 12+ volts when the high beam is on.

Ground-switched high beam circuits do exactly the opposite: the cable measures a voltage of 12+ volts when the high beam is off and drops to below 1 volt when the high beam is on. Connecting the Trigger Wizard directly between the DENALI harness and the ground-switched headlight circuit will invert the signal to properly activate the DENALI dimming features. This adapter is compatible with all DENALI DataDim driving light cables and the DialDim lighting controller.

Are all LED headlights grounded?
No, so please follow the instructions above to determine if your vehicle has a ground switched high beam circuit. Here are some example vehicles that have floor switched high beam circuits (see owner's manual for details). We will update the manual to reflect the specific cables that need to be connected for specific vehicles as we gather the information.
