DENALI CANsmart Controller GEN II - KTM 1290, 1190, 1090, 1050, & 790 Series

Harness the flexibility and intelligence of your KTM motorcycle's CAN bus electrical system to make accessory installation much easier with the new and improved DENALI CANsmart™ Controller GEN II.

The DENALI CANsmart™ Controller offers plug-and-play installation and integrated control of up to four accessories to enable dozens of customizable settings that can be controlled directly via the KTM's existing handlebar switches (optional). KTM CANsmart control switch or the CANsmart™ accessory manager software .

The CANsmart's four circuits are pre-programmed to connect and independently control two sets of DENALI lights, a SoundBomb horn and our B6 auxiliary brake light.

Gen II – More features, more performance, more versatile

Unlike the Gen I CANsmart, all four circuits of the Gen II can deliver a full 10 amps of continuous current and each circuit can be configured to operate all types of accessories. The maximum current draw for the entire device is 30 amps continuously. The Gen II also features two new additional light settings. You can now modulate your auxiliary lights to increase visibility and set your left and right parking lights to turn off independently when you activate the corresponding turn signal.

Features

• KTM dongle functionality* - and activates additional functions in the ABS control unit and ECU and saves settings, eliminating the need to reset ABS and MTC every time you restart the bike. Additionally activates the 80 octane “Bad Fuel” function, which reduces engine power for journeys with lower fuel quality .
• High/low sync - Adjust the auxiliary headlights to toggle between a programmable high/low beam setting using the factory high beam switch.
• ON/OFF and Dimming - Control two sets of lights independently on/off directly via your original vehicle's switches. The brightness can be adjusted using the software or the optional control switch .
• Modulate lights - Set the auxiliary headlights to modulation to improve your visibility to other drivers.
• Flash to pass - Need to get someone's attention? Press the high beam switch three times and your auxiliary lights will flash three times quickly.
• Cancel with indicator* – This feature deactivates the corresponding auxiliary light when you turn on the turn signal to prevent powerful auxiliary lights from overwhelming your signal.
• Inverse flashing with danger* - This feature causes your auxiliary lights to flash inversely to your hazard lights, increasing visibility during roadside emergencies.
• Plug & Play horn installation - Quickly and easily connect high-performance aftermarket horns like our SoundBomb™ without having to add an additional wiring harness or relay.
• Strobe with horn* - When this feature is selected, the CANsmart™ software will automatically flash your auxiliary lights when you sound the horn. This feature works regardless of whether you have the factory horn or the SoundBomb™ horn installed.
• Delay-activated “Smart Brake” technology* - CANsmart™ measures vehicle speed in real time to activate your auxiliary brake light when braking before you even touch the brake. You can adjust the sensitivity and minimum speed at which the Smart Brake function activates.
• Flashing pattern braking* - The CANsmart™ offers four different flashing patterns that make our super bright auxiliary brake lights visible to drivers behind you. You can set the auxiliary brake lights to flash only during hard braking, flash continuously when the brake is applied, or flash four times quickly and then remain constant (California legal flashing frequency).
• Circuit function selector - Using the circuit function selector in the CANsmart software, you can operate any accessory on any of the four circuits. Click a circuit icon to open the drop-down menu and make your selection from the list of available circuit functions.
• Switched power source - The CANsmart™ offers a universal “accessory” option that allows you to easily get clean switched 12V power. This means that any accessory you plug into this circuit will turn on and off with your ignition.
• Delay timeout - You can also set the accessories in this circuit to have a delayed timeout. This keeps them powered for up to 30 seconds after you turn off your bike.
• Onboard power - The “Accessory” circuit option is ideal for powering your GPS, phone, heated devices or other electronic devices.

*NOTE:

1. The KTM 790 series motorcycles use a different control unit and are only partially supported. The turn signal, shift function selector, horn and KTM dongle functions are not available for 790 models, but control of auxiliary lighting, brake lights and other accessories is supported. Brake light functions on 790 models are only triggered by the front brake.

2. The 80 octane “Bad Fuel” feature is only available on Adventure models up to model year 2016. 3. In order for the 1050/1090 ADVENTURE to use the dongle functions, the OEM “OFFROAD PACK” (part no. 60600980000) is also required.

3. We recommend installing a B6 cabling extension DNL.WHS.049 if you plan to install a B6 on the KTM 790
